Poetry Project

God gave me this great idea the other day- to put all of my poetry in a scrapbook!! Today I started going through all of my old journals, diaries, notebooks, and binders searching for all of the poetry I've written over the years. It's ALOT! Yet it's incredible. God TRULY breathes the words into me, and they are an expression of His love and faithfulness to me. As I read through my poetry I see the seasons of life He has brought me through, I read some of the words and it takes me back to moments in time. I can feel the raw pain, or the delight of the moment. This is going to be a very moving project as I put together this book but I'm excited for it to be done and I can sit down and look through it all.

Decorating day!

It's been a great Saturday afternoon. I spent most of it at Hobby Lobby getting picture frames, ordering pics, going to Walgreens (thank goodness it's right down the street lol), and hanging things up! It was so much fun going through all of our old pictures. It'd been awhile since I'd done that. I'd forgotten how perfectly adorable my brothers were when they were little, how precious Chloe was as a puppy, and it was fun to see how we've all changed. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the wall in our office/computer room now! I can't stand bare walls, and this room is starting to look finished, and it's not covered in ancient tins and toys (my mom's collections!). Sorry mom, no antiques for me lol! I aboslutely love photography and have always loved going into friend's homes that have pictures everywhere. It's fun to finally be displaying some of our family photos! Here's some snapshots of our newest home project!! I am probably way more excited about this than I should be. But I just had a great time doing it! :) It's fun to decorate and make things look cute!

Scraps 'n Ribbons update

Last night we had a business meeting to talk about Scraps 'n Ribbons. For those that don't know, that is the business that Corinne and I have. 100% of our profits goes towards the orphans. We sell burp cloths, hair bows, buckets, and a new product TBA!! :) I'm very excited to see what God does with our efforts in this new "project." God has really been encouraging my heart recently and burdening me still for these precious kids. Sometimes it's unbearable for me to sit in the comfort and prosperity of my home knowing that people NEED HELP! I feel so helpless to give it sometimes! But I'm thankful that God has given me the opportunity to participate in this business because it makes me feel like I'm doing something useful with the life that I have!! I wanted to post our website on here as well in case anybody wants to look. We'll be posting pics and info for our new product soon so keep checking back on that site. Some projects....

I've enjoyed doing some crafty stuff this week while watching the Olympics. My creative juices were flowing so I had to let the artsy side of me come out! As crazy as it sounds, scrapbooking/art stuff is the best therapy for me (however, shopping is right up there!). It helps me relax and wind down after a stressful or exhausting day. So here's some pics of what I've been up to the past few days (besides working from 8:30-5!).

Decorating

This will be very boring to some but i was so excited that I couldn't help but blog about it!! My mom had gotten me this "family" plaque a month or so ago but I hadn't hung it up yet because I didn't want it to just hang by itself. I wanted some pictures of our family with it. I finally made it to Michael's today with my 40% off coupon in hand. I had 20 minutes to kill before work and I was determined to go in, get what I needed for the project and leave. I have a trend of going into craft stores and coming out with WAY TOO MUCH!!! :) I see cute scrapbook stuff and have to get it because, after all I'm sure I'll use them sometime!!! I walked out of the store with more than I came for but very pleased with myself. I found three items for only $1 and the scrapbook page frame was only $5. Talk about some bargain shopping!!! So I had lots of fun painting the words and frame, scrapbooking the family page, and hanging everything in my room. Had to post some pics.!! This 2-week "vacation" from babysitting has been truly a gift from God. I've had time to just rest- physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I've had wonderful devotional times, one-one-one time with Noah and Caleb, good times with friends, and time to do things that I enjoy (like this project).
