At Home

For the first time since we've moved, I finally felt like this was home. Why?? We got a piano!!! A REAL piano!! I've been playing on my keyboard for past year and a half since we've moved and I was fine. But it truly isn't the same as a real piano. So today the piano was delivered. I got home from work and played a couple of chords but was in a hurry so I didn't really take in all that had been given to me in this gift. After I finished my homework tonight, I sat down with my worship music and i felt at home. My hands glided across the keys (not plastic keys!!) as the beautiful songs of praise flowed from this instrument into our home. It was a sweet time of worship for me and I feel so thankful and humbled right now. Music is such a beautiful reflection of our Creator. As the harmonies flow I just think of our lives and how perfect God blends everything together.

I want to thank Mom for the time she spent lining up delivery services and tuning. Thank you SOOOO MUCH to the family who used to own this piano! You have no idea how thankful I am.

And... though you never thought you'd hear this.. drum roll please..

Mom and Dad,
thank you for pushing me on in piano. What a gift it has been to be able to play and serve at church with it. Thank you for encouraging me in those tough spots that I went through and wanted to quit.

Blessings,
Molly

Hey Molly,

Congratulations on the piano and I am glad you like it. We all enjoy hearing your music in the house and I know it is a blessing to many others also. And thanks for the thanks!

your Papa

PS: I just thought of a great new place to which we can move Alberto (aka Rudolph) the stuffed reindeer head shot by your great-grandfather many decades ago.
Merry Christmas!

To my dear Little Miss Molly,

You are a delight! What a sweet blog post and neat photos too! As I listened to you play Papabel's Canon, worship music and the ole familiar Christmas tunes I realized how much I missed hearing you play and having our home filled with your beautiful music! I'm looking forward to hearing more!

You know Molly maybe God has used this season of not having a "real" piano in our home to help you appreciate and realize what a special gift from God your musical talent really is, how fortune you have been to have had 10 years of lessons with one of our town's finest teachers and how worthwhile all of those dreaded hours of practice you invested, and we required, actually were after all.

If we had been able to purchase a piano for you right after our move maybe you would never have had this "ah-ha" moment that you did tonight as you finally, after nearly 2 years without, got to play again on a real piano.

I had to laugh and cry as I read your post tonight because I remember almost like it was yesterday telling you, oh so many many times when you wanted to quit or when you didn't feel like practicing, "One day Molly you are going to be so thankful I made you practice and didn't let you quit. You just wait and see!"

It felt wonderful to hear you say that! It was so worth the wait!

I love you more than you know,
XOXO Your Momma
