In exactly 2 weeks from now I will be in Guatemala. I have 13 more days until we leave our home to travel down there... and my heart is full. Full of hope and expectation, and, if I'm honest, full of fear. I am scared to go down there. I am scared of what God will teach me. What He will call me to. I am determined not to numb myself to the pain, I want my heart to be broken over what breaks His heart. Yet it will not be easy. It is not easy to open up and be vulnerable and let God mold and shape you. But it's what I long for. I long for Him to come in and take over my life, my heart. And so, it's with great eagerness that I await my trip. These next couple of weeks will be a time of preparation- mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

I keep thinking of the song Empty Me by Jeremy Camp. This is the cry of my heart:

Holy fire, burn away
My desire for anything
That is not of you
And is of me
I want more of you
And less of me
Empty Me
Empty me
And fill, won't you fill me
With you, with you.
I don't want my life to be about me. I pray that He fills us with Him- all of Him. His compassion, loyalty, faithfulness, goodness, grace, love.

Here is a verse for you,
Galatians 6:9: "Let us not get tired of doing what is good. At the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up."
This verse is on my calender and I thought that it goes so well with missions work, so I hope it encourages you today.

Also some songs that might encourage you:
"In Me" by Casting Crowns, "More Than Useless", by Relient K, and "Every Single One", by Geoff Moore

Also there is a blog that I have just started following, It is a girl who has decided to move to China for a year (She is leaving March 4th) to work in a government orphanage. So maybe you can relate with her in some way, and her story is awesome. Here is the address:

Hi my GuateMolly girl,

I am also excited to find out what lessons God will teach you and how He further defines and clarifies your future calling.

It should be interesting traveling with the two guys accompanying you on this trip! Ha! Ha! I'm sure you will have some good Barney's to share with us upon your return!

Humor aside, I actually hope and pray that God gives the 3 of you a clearer picture of His heart for orphans and how He wants our family to respond to the needs.

May He draw you all into a closer more vibrant relationship with Him.

Through this experience may He unite and strengthen the relationships you have with your Dad and brother.

Take lots of pictures to capture every moment while you are there so that you can tell me all about it when you return!

Much love,
Your Momma XOXO

Thank you so much for your encouragement!! Love the scripture and songs! :) And Sharon, that blog you're following is really neat. I laughed as I read her posts because she reminds me alot of myself, especially when she was talking about playing orphanage as a little girl! That was totally me!
