Begone Unbelief
by
Undelible Grace

Begone, unbelief,
My Savior is near,
And for my relief
Will surely appear;
By prayer let me wrestle,
And He will perform;
With Christ in the vessel,
I smile at the storm.

Though dark be my way,
Since He is my Guide,
'Tis mine to obey,
'Tis His to provide;
Though cisterns be broken,
And creatures all fail,
The word He hath spoken
Shall surely prevail.

Chorus:
Begone unbelief, the Savior is here.
Begone unbelief, the Savior is here.
Begone unbelief, the Savior is here.
Though cisterns be broken, and creatures all fail.
The Word He has spoken will surely prevail.
The Word He has spoken will surely prevail.

His love, in time past,
Forbids me to think
He'll leave me at last
In trouble to sink:
Each sweet Ebenezer
I have in review
Confirms His good pleasure
To help me quite through.

Why should I complain
Of want or distress,
Temptation or pain?
He told me no less;
The heirs of salvation,
I know from His Word,
Through much tribulation
Must follow their Lord.

How bitter that cup
No heart can conceive,
Which He drank quite up,
That sinners might live!
His way was much rougher
And darker than mine;
Did Christ, my Lord, suffer,
And shall I repine?

Since all that I meet
Shall work for my good,
The bitter is sweet,
The medicine, food;
Though painful at present,
'Twill cease before long,
And then, oh, how pleasant
The conqueror's song!

This song was introduced to our church this morning and i LOVE it. The words are so powerful, a balm to the soul, an encouragment to press on for the victory and sing the conqueror's song!! We all know what our cracked cisterns are, the parts of our heart that ache and ache, even when we're happy. We try to fill them up with things of this world, attempting to supress the pain. We cover them up, not letting anyone else see. But the Father sees our hearts. He sees the silent, hidden tears shed when nobody else is looking. He gives us the everlasting fountain of life that will fill the cracked cisterns to overflowing! What great hope is that?! Thank you Jesus for your hope and love! Help me to believe, even when it's hard and it seems that the path is hopeless. Help me to trust, when the way is unclear! Fill our cisterns with living water, that we may be consumed with YOU!

I love your heart for adoption. I was a lot older than you before I realized God had laid it on my heart, and it was years before we actually were able to bring our little one home. We are currently praying for a way financially to adopt again from Ethiopia. We can't wait to see what the Lord has in store, and I love to read him work in your heart.
Blessings,
Carrie
